Neutral Milk Hotel auction rare items to benefit Phil Elverum's wife, Geneviève

One month ago, Phil Elverum revealed that his wife Geneviève Elverum has been diagnosed with “inoperable stage 4 pancreatic cancer” just four months after their first daughter was born. Phil correspondingly set up a GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate their increasingly “precarious financial position as a family,” and as if the generous reception to that campaign weren’t a clear enough indication of just how appreciated the Elverums are, both as artists and as people, Neutral Milk Hotel have just set up an auction of rare memorabilia to further help with the cause.

The auction can be found here, and check below for the complete list of items currently up for grabs. It’s maybe redundant to say that all proceeds will benefit Geneviève and the Elverum family, but there you go. The signed “test pressing” of Fugazi’s first demo personally seems pretty appealing:

• Neutral Milk Hotel box set signed 14 times and accompanying an original Jeff Mangum drawing
• Headstock of a smashed Guy Picciotto guitar used in Rites of Spring
• Signed 12” of Bikini Kill release Revolution Girl Style Now
• Two signed Bikini Kill acetates for Revolution Girl Style Now
Six Song Demo 10” by Rites of Spring, signed by Guy Picciotto
• Fugazi First Demo 12”, signed
• Poster for Fugazi film Instrument, signed
• Two signed Neutral Milk Hotel singles and original Elephant 6 catalog signed by Jeff Mangum
