Night Moves share new song "Carl Sagan," start practicing their day moves in preparation for US tour

As Carl Sagan might very likely have said if he were still alive today: “If you wish to order an apple pie from Amazon Prime Now, you must first invent the smartphone.”

Very, VERY similarly: if you wanna get up to speed with the straight-dope on Minneapolis spacey psych-folk duo Night Moves, you must first read the impeccably well-written article we already published last month about the band’s March 25 Domino Records release of Pennied Days.

Seriously. It has, like, all the infos in it about the backstory, the tracklisting, the limited-edition vinyl pre-ordering info, and the first single/video, “Denise, Don’t Want To See You Cry.” If you don’t know what the hell I’m talking about right now, go check that out first and meet me back here. I’ll just be hanging out here and humming a little Vangelis in the meantime…

Okay, with me? Great, because NOW I can FINALLY EXPLAIN TO YOU IN THE BODY OF THIS NEWS POST why all the Carl Sagan references I’ve been making are actually super hilarious and appropriate! Namely, that the boys in Night Moves have recently taken to the internet to unleash the album’s second single, a luxuriously spacey, psych-folk jam entitled Carl Sagan! And suffice it to say: whatever the new tune may lack in “Vangelis appeal,” it, um, more than makes up for with its copious amounts of “absence of Vangelis appeal”! Check it out in all of its streaming glory down below, along with a newly announced run of US dates coinciding with Pennied Days’s impending release (the tour dates to have less to do with Carl Sagan, so I just kinda tacked them on to the bottom… but whatever!)
