Hey there, friends, just popping in to let you know that Perfect Pussy, or as my mom calls them “the vagina band I read about in Elle,” have decided to say yes to touring and expand their current tour. Touring, as you know, is hard. I know this as well, mostly because by the time I was halfway done formatting all the dates you see listed below I was pretty bummed and my fingers were tired and I just wanted to home and never think about rock & roll or argue about who gets shotgun ever again; I can’t even imagine what an actual tour would be like. Perfect Pussy, however have decided to heed Alex and Brett Harris’ advice and Do Hard Things. I, on the other hand, have yet again taken the easy way out, as evidenced by the fact that just now I pretended that referencing a semi-popular motivational book for Christian young-adults counts as an actual joke.
Moving on! As you may recall, in the first paragraph I said that Perfect Pussy have said “yes to touring,” which astute readers will recognize as a reference to their recent full-length for Captured Tracks entitled Say Yes to Love (TMT Review). If, upon listening to the album, you were thinking it might be cool to own a copy of “I” off of that album on a limited-edition 7-inch from the label Art For Blind, then you’re in luck, because exactly that is happening. There’s even going to be a live version of the track “Bells” on the B-side. It’s out May 5! Preorder it here!
And finally, as it turns out, if you’re a band in America and you use electric guitars, you’re required to play at least one Bruce Springsteen cover once in your career. Like, it’s a law apparently.
