Let me guess: you thought the line-up for Pitchfork Music Festival 2013 (July 19-21 at Chicago’s shabby little Union Park) was kinda crap last year and was looking just as abysmal this year too, right? Sure, you’re into Björk, and you were all-for hearing The Breeders play Last Splash, but other than that, you were not so sure that you’d be willing to kick out the $120 for the caliber of names that they were tossing out. After all, you aren’t just any music fan. You read TMT, goddamn it, and your tastes are REFINED. You’re above it all. You’ll skip the dusty, sweltering Chicago Park District baseball fields and endless port-a-john lines this year, right?
Guess again, motherfucker. The full line-up got its ass announced yesterday, and now the thing is fortified with awesomeness. Lil B, DJ Rashad, Autre Ne Veut, Andy Stott, Daughn Gibson, and a whole slew of others just got thrown into the mix to join headliners R. Kelly, Björk, and Belle & Sebastian. So yeah. You’re officially obligated now. Sorry! Get your tickets here while you can, and I’ll see you out there. Don’t worry, you’ll recognize me. I’ll be the guy wearing his jeans rolled up into shorts instead of actual shorts.
Complete 2013 lineup:
