Prince Rama attempt ancient ritual, subsequently appear on Paw Tracks, release debut, Shadow Temple

For those of you attempting to transcend the material world as most of us know it (and I hope many of you are) by hopping on some outer-cosmic sound waves, then Paw Tracks is once again your best friend. Following the same wavelength as acts like Black Dice, Animal Collective, Excepter, Ariel Pink, and several others, they have gone and added Prince Rama to their ever-expanding roster of artists who dwell above the conscious plane. Formerly known as Prince Rama of Ayodhya, the band will be keeping it straight psych with their first release for Paw Tracks. The album is titled Shadow Temple and, from the sound of it, is probably their heaviest and most concise statement to date.

In order to stay true to their Asian-inspired, krautrock-washed sound of borderline late night drum circle madness, the band have gone and summoned some otherworldly inspiration by recording Shadow Temple in Kurt Vonnegut’s grandson’s cabin. Similarly, they also set up station in a 135-year-old church with some assistance from AC members Avey Tare and Deakin. ‘Nuff said. Expect this one to spontaneously appear on store shelves come September.
