Rainbow Arabia prepare new album FM Sushi, everyone hopes they washed their hands

Electro-pop pair and Eastern-culture enthusiasts Rainbow Arabia have announced a new album entitled FM Sushi. The album’s teaser trailer finds the band moving away from the “world music” leanings of their previous full-length — 2011’s Boys and Diamonds (TMT Review) — and serving up straight 80s synth with a sprinkling of techno-noir for flavor. If the Bladerunner-tinged trailer hooks you, the band’s new track, “River’s Edge,” is available to stream on SoundCloud.

Not content to simply diversify their cultural tastes, the wife and husband duo have decided to spice up their band life by including Dylan Ryan, drummer and former member of Cursive, in their fun. When FM Sushi comes out April 15 from Time No Place, we’ll see how this addition morphs their mojo.
