Real Estate (the band) announce album details and fall tour; Real Estate (the thing) announces its market is still fucked...

If you fancy yourself a big fan of New Jersey song-singers Real Estate, but you didn’t know that their sophomore album (and Domino debut) Days is due out October 18 in the US and October 17 in the UK, then you might not really be such a big fan after all. You might just like summertime, barbecues on the beach, and hitter boxes where the little hitter thing it painted up like a cigarette so you can drive around in broad daylight smoking weed in your car without anyone noticing unless they look at you for too long, which no one will because because, duh, you’re always in motion. Unless I’m at a stoplight, in which case I’ll I gotta do is hold that shit in and keep my hands down. ‘Cept at that one light that’s like, foreverlong! Ugh! I remember that one time last winter, when… I mean, but anyway, so, yeah: Real Estate. Good band. New record. You got that, right? Cool. ‘Graph 2, here we come!

Days was recorded with Kevin McMahon (Titus Andronicus, The Walkmen) in a New Paltz, NY barn-cum-studio and is dorkily described in the press release as “a coming of age moment for childhood friends Martin Courtney, Matt Mondanile, and Alex Bleeker,” which makes me think that something kind of freaky went down in that barn. It’ll be available on CD, cassette, and vinyl, but Domino has an exclusive vinyl preorder that includes a “white label bootleg 12-inch of the band’s June 30, 2011 live performance at Brooklyn venue 285 Kent Ave.” Basically, it’s a live preview of the whole record, recorded by NYC Taper and limited to only 300 copies. So, you know, “act now!” or whatever (sheesh, Domino should be throwing me some money for all this).

So, now that we’ve established that there’s a new Real Estate album coming out, there must be a new tour happening, right? Well, yes. Yes there is. After a few hang-outs in Europe and the UK, they’ll be jamming through the US starting on Halloween night in Chicago. They’ve also hinted that they will soon unveil the details of a free New York record release party taking place sometime in October on their Twitter thingy (@realestateband), so stick that in your hitter box and smoke it… while driving… to a beach BBQ. With some babes.
