Rustie announces sophomore Warp LP Green Language, out in August

No, just thinking about Glass Swords doesn’t make me wonder about the tremendous impracticality of such an item existing (similar to a cotton spoon), but it does put me in an imagined scenario, where upon playback, I’m physically summoned out through a window and into a sky-world full of wonderful colors! Russell Whyte a.k.a. Rustie’s debut album from 2011 was nothing if not distinct in its unrelenting wonky-ness, and in the intervening years, who have we had to satiate those musical needs? Zomby? Hudson Mohawke (who could’ve conceivably come from the same gene pool)? No! Nobody! Fruitless are your attempts to suggest otherwise and prove me wrong!

He’s “back” now. Rustie has a new album called Green Language coming out on Warp at the end of August. The album will feature contributions from Redinho and D Double E, and Danny Brown will be returning the collaborative favor after Rustie’s production adds on Old. Additionally, via Annie Mac’s show on BBC Radio 1, the Scottish producer unveiled a new track called “Raptor,” which you can listen to at about the 1hr 21m mark over here.

Check the teaser for Green Language below. I’m so ready for those zoological themes.
