Those Sacred Bones creeps will publish their first book on May 13, and it's an Alexander Heir collection

A cop’s torso with spider’s legs writhes at the end of a hairy tentacle. A punk kid yanks the grim reaper’s head off. A naked man sits in a lotus position, skin sliced off half of his body to expose pure skeleton.

This is the world of Alexander Heir’s artwork, fearlessly dark and undeniably surreal. He’s been drawing like this for years, channeling images from a weird punk underworld to create flyers and 7-inch record jackets for bands all over the world, including Hoax, Forward, The Mob, Nightbirds, Destruction Unit, and Modern Life Is War. Heir also runs Death/Traitors, a clothing line whose fans include Three Six Mafia, Fucked Up, Antwon, and Odd Future.

According to The Fader, Sacred Bones has compiled 164 pages worth of Heir’s work for a book called Death Is Not the End, which will see a May 13 release. It will include 10 never-before-seen illustrations, and a limited edition of 150 hand-numbered, signed copies will include an iron-on patch, bookmark, wrap-around sleeve, and will be wax sealed like all limited Sacred Bones releases. Death Is Not the End is limited to 500 copies and you can pre-order one here.
