Music emanates from Craig Clouse’s Shit and Shine like a foul stench. But in a totally good way, obviously. From hysteric noise rock through to taut club experiments, Clouse pulls himself in any and every direction he sees fit, somehow managing to make it all stick. Recently, Diagonal and Rocket Recordings got a taste of the $&$ magic, and now it’s Editions Mego’s turn with Everybody’s A Fuckin Expert, which falls nicely into the lineage of great Shit and Shine album titles (including Cunts With Roses, Find Out What Happens When People Start Being Polite For a Fucking Change, andThe Biggest Cock in Christendom, to name but a few).
Editions Mego reckons the LP to be a tour de force in “twisted theatre, disorientating dance and hefty hedonism,” so expect some delirious riddims, caustic textures, and, above all else, a healthy dose of humor. Noisemakers can sometimes take themselves a li’l too seriously, so let $&$ be your antidote.
