The Silent Barn approaching its fundraising goal with eight days left!

It’s been hard times for the actual music community this summer, and it feels like the world really is out to get them. Even before the PIAS fire, the ransacking of The Silent Barn in Queens was a devastating blow. In response, the venue started a Kickstarter project with a $40,000 goal of recovering their losses, and also making their new venue more compliant with fire code and other safety regulations. In a wonderful display of support, the community donated over $20,000 on the first day, and another $10,000 in the first week. Admittedly, donations fell by the wayside a little after that, but a steady clip was maintained nonetheless.

Now, as of this writing, Rebuilding The Silent Barn has a little over eight days left before its deadline of early September 18, and currently stands at $39,305, just $695 left before the goal is reached. $695! If about 50 of you donated $15 (which is basically beer money for most of you for a couple days), they’d make it over the top. Several writers, editors, and former staff here at Tiny Mix Tapes have made their donations, so if you haven’t done so already, get to it! Even if, by the time you read this, they’ve already reached their goal, additional donations will always be welcomed. Every little bit shows you’re doing the right thing.
