Sinéad O’Connor and I have a lot in common: we both love ripping up pictures of Pope John Paul II, we both are always like, “get it together, Miley,” and we both have strange relationships with reggae. We also both believe it to be a good idea that she puts out another record, this time on Nettwerk.
O’Connor, one of the most iconic female performers of the last 30 years, will be releasing an LP of all new material entitled The Vishnu Room on August 12 via her new label home. The release is said to be “indicative of where Sinéad is in life, the album is passionate and direct, yet with an overarching fragility; her voice is a weapon, as powerful as it is tender.” Until then, listen to “Nothing Compares 2 U” again:
