The Postal Service add more dates because they're too cute and modest to brag about all the already-sold-out ones

A little while ago, we totally tried to hit you up on AIM to tell you all about the Postal Service reunion — including the Give Up Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition that’s coming out April 9 on Sub Pop with some previously-unreleased tracks or whatever — but the T1 line was crashing hard because online registration was raging in the residence halls. To make matters worse, a good half-dozen of those shows ended up selling out pretty damn fast while you were watching that movie Snatch with your buds after bowling club got out.

But never fear, my friend. Jimmy and that other guy have got your back. See, they’ve modestly (almost sheepishly) announced almost 20 more additional dates on their anniversary tour. A lot of those dates are in “North America’s premiere arenas, amphitheaters, and more,” because nothing says intimate, bedroom electronica like “Merriweather Post Pavillion.” Pre-sale tickets for the new dates will be available starting Wednesday, February 20 at 10 AM (local venue time, natch) directly from the Postal Service website, except for the Toronto, Columbia, MD, and Vancouver shows, which have later pre-sale dates. Like we already tried to tell you, Jenny Lewis (who sang on the original record) is still touring with them, as is Laura Burhenn (Mynabirds, Bright Eyes), just to even out the boy/girl ratio.

And speaking of that record, you can pre-order some fancy, limited-edition shit over at the Sub Pop site, which you can definitely afford now that you’re a grown-ass loser with a shit job. Oh, but those pre-orders also include a free download of the unreleased track “A Tattered Line of String.” Doesn’t that just sound like a Postal Service title??? I think everything is going to be okay, man. Really. I didn’t think so before, but I do now.
