Thom Yorke Helps Spread the Green and Announces Concert in Support of UK Green Party

Thom Yorke really thinks highly of Tony Juniper, a progressive English fellow hoping to land a seat in the UK Parliament as a Green Party Member, and would love to help raise awareness for his campaign. So what does he plan to do? Well, apparently what he does best: play some music. Yorke announced, via the Dead Air Space website. that he would be using the Cambridge Corn Exchange in Cambridge, England on February 25 to play a “low key solo thing” in support of Juniper’s political hopes.

Yorke also used the announcement as a further way to praise Juniper by noting his skills at “dealing with the murky brown waters of politics when it comes to the environment” as well as Juniper’s willingness to both “doing more than paying lip service to climate change” and “maybe rip(ping) shit up a little.” Yorke also said he is not prone to involving himself in politics but said he agreed to the show after Juniper “bought me a pint and twisted my arm.”

Local artist Pete Um will open the show. Tickets can be purchased at the W.A.S.T.E shop at “midday” today.
