Tyondai Braxton relaxes the only way he knows how: touring with an orchestra

Playing in Battles must be tough. Have you ever seen those guys live? It seem like they’re always playing three instruments at once while still managing to bounce around the stage. It’s enough to wear out even the strongest among us, so it’s not too surprising that key member Tyondai Braxton parted ways with the group earlier this year. Nowadays, Mr. Braxton is just kicking back and taking it easy. Granted, his form of taking it easy consists of playing some dates with The Wordless Music Orchestra, in which they perform tracks from his recent solo album on Warp, Central Market (TMT Review). Old habits and dying hard and all that stuff, you know.

Tyondai Braxton with orchestra dates:

03.04.11 - Minneapolis, MN - Walker Arts Center
03.10.11 - Washington, DC - Library of Congress
04.07.11 - New York, NY - Alice Tully Hall
