We Are Wolves are probably already sick of jokes about "Wolf Bands," but will just have to put up with a few more if they want me to list their tourdates

We Are Wolves (not to be confused with Le Loup, who are only one wolf) have announced an upcoming North American tour in support of their new, triangle-free LP, Invisible Violence (TMT Review). The album was digitally released February 2 via Dare to Care and didn’t see a physical release until February 23, which gave everyone a glorious window of time in which you could’ve illegally downloaded it and still convinced yourself that you’d pay for the vinyl. And speaking of digital/physical releases, maybe you should get off the internet. Go to a concert. Meet some people. You know?

What’s that? A concert sounds like a good place to rub up against (if not even speak to and mate with) people? Then you’re in luck! Joined on a few dates by Parlovr, Lesbians on Ecstacy, and Wolf Parade (who have to be, like, six thousand wolves), We Are Wolves are coming to a town (relatively) near you! Catch them before they fly out to Lyon (Lyon… lions… wolves… you get the idea).

Best Coast prep full-length debut, tour lesser areas

You don’t have to love California to like Best Coast. Bethany Cosentino (formerly of Pocahaunted) and Bobb Bruno do the sunshine/Beach Boys thing with the fuzzy veneer of garage pop, but Best Coast is for everyone, no matter your thoughts about the superlative. After coming out with an impressive number of 7-inches and cassettes from Black Iris, Art Fag, Group Tightener, PPM, and Blackest Rainbow since last summer, Best Coast are preparing a full-length debut slated to see light of day “sometime this year.” Mark your calendars!

Midlake tour starts really soon (today!), goes on for ages, and ends in distant future

The heavily bearded Texan rockers Midlake are kicking off their latest tour any minute now. Seriously, if you live in Arizona and you catch this article as soon as it goes live, there’ll be plenty of time to cancel all your plans and make it to the show tonight at Plush in Tucson. The rest of you don’t have to jump off the couch just yet, but Midlake will surely be in your area at some point. The almost four-month-long tour is set to cover most of the US, and the band will get a bit of northern exposure from a couple of Canadian dates.

Fol Chen to Tour with Liars, Phantom-Tour with Radiohead

L.A. robo-pop collective Fol Chen had a pretty serendipitous 2009 after releasing their debut album of ironic-or-is-it? Jackson family junkyard jams, Part One: John Shade, Your Fortune’s Made, on Asthmatic Kitty. They made a few videos, covered Prince’s “The Beautiful Ones” for Spin’s Purplish Rain compilation and Pink Floyd’s “In The Flesh” for Mojo’s tribute to The Wall, got the green-light for white adults to like them from NPR, and were promptly remixed by several of those white adult converts… including those old geezers in Liars, who were tuning in for Car Talk, but instead heard Fol Chen on accident.

Now, in some crazy George Costanza-esque upping of the ante, Liars are continuing to pretend like they were into Fol Chen (and not hot 1985 Toyota 4x4s) all along and are taking them on their US tour this spring. And yes, by proxy, this makes them phantom-touring partners with Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood. Hmm… NPR? Radiohead? Yeah, NOW you’re on board, aren’t you, you old geezer?

Fol Chen with Liars:

04.10.10 - Los Angeles, CA - El Rey
04.14.10 - Washington, DC - Rock N Roll Hotel
04.15.10 - New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom
04.16.10 - Philadelphia, PA - First Unitarian Church
04.17.10 - Boston, MA - Paradise Lounge
04.18.10 - Brooklyn, NY - Music Hall of Williamsburg
04.27.10 - San Francisco, CA - Slim’s
04.29.10 - Portland, OR - Hawthorne Theatre
04.30.10 - Vancouver, BC - VenueCanada
05.01.10 - Seattle, WA - Neumos
