♫♪  メトロノリ Metoronori - メトロノリ works 14-18 ペール

Earlier this year, I happily wrote about メトロノリ Metoronori’s single “湖に行って” and it has now reappeared on a new digital album/anthology called メトロノリ works 14-18 ペール.

Her graceful electro-pop is as shy and unassuming as it is delightfully strange, with the tiniest handful of sweet eeriness sprinkled over top. Delicate, breathy vocals, a sister to yikii’s, whisper utterances and half-words, kind of like a baby’s, throughout, and tie together more fleshed out lyrics where her singing dances a strange ballet with ruffled pianos, synth sounds beautiful and drooping like snowdrop flowers, and sometimes caustic beats.

メトロノリ Metoronori’s is music for the Morton salt girl skipping in the rain under her mauve umbrella; for nights spent hidden in a giant armoire, behind a row of fragile dresses, scribbling thoughts into a notebook until the pencil wears out; for potpourri-filled boudoirs with computers and keyboards hidden in the corners; for current fantasies of mine and many more.
