♫♪  Palm Spring - “Something Just Ain’t Right”

There is no shortage of NBA players with rap alter egos. Admittedly, there’s an even smaller portion of those that are actually “stars” (sorry Shump). On top of that, less have their own movie. Or video game. You can see where I’m going with this?

Few NBA stars have had (and probably ever will have) the impact Shaquille O’Neal (a.k.a. Shaq, Big Aristotle, Shaq Fu, Shaq Daddy, Wilt Chamberneezy, etc.) has had not just on basketball but on pop culture. Yeah, Jordan had his movie too but did he ever go platinum with an album? I didn’t think so.

Okay, so maybe The Big Cactus couldn’t make a three-pointer to save his life (he only made one, ever) but the man’s as big an icon off the court as any Curry, James, and MJ is on the court. Respect will always be due to the near-mythical The Real Deal himself.

Fortunately for Shaq, muzak producer Palm Spring feels the same. In his tribute RadioShaq, Shaq rap gets the chop and screw treatment, as vintage as the days of Orlando Magic highlights and blueberry Soda Shaq.
