♫♪  Vessel - Written in Fire (Excerpt 1)

A dog died by a tree. Another tree froze. Blankets were wrapped around it.
The last breath from a warm body, swirling, catching itself in the moment of release.
We can be extracted and used to cure our own ills.
We can extract similarly plagued and muddy meaning from this excerpt from Vessel and Rakhi Singh’s new collaboration, titled Written in Fire.
The piece takes inspiration from Leoš Janáček’s second string quartet Intimate Letters.
It reminds me a lot of Mica Levi’s compositions for films and strings.
It will be performed with a string quartet and live electronics throughout April and May around the UK.
See the dates here.
I wish I was there.
To move, to be moved, to pass, to stare very long at the sun.
There will never be another day like this one.
