♫♪  维新噩梦工厂 - 香烟

Every last circuit drawing energy through bleeding veins of ether into a WiFi of spreadsheets in a dimensional motherboard that feeds a vortex in this carbon-platinum shield box, cocktailing portal that creates a time-linked parallel as future melts into a retroreactive past surging pulses of tubes bursting intensely until shattering, drawn into the swirling outer-rims, cascading along the hole through, tape everywhere, all the tape burning.

Naughty Night continues to light the world on fire with a new bonefire by 维新噩梦工厂 entitled, 香烟. History below:

In 1954, Malborn became the first lifestyle brand, when the Marlboro Man first appeared on the TV screens. This simple character, a smoking cowboy, represented freedom and wanderlust. For the first time, a company connected their product to a certain feeling and lifestyle rather than showing its use or presenting the product in an appealing way. This era - the era of tobacco TV advertising, done by lifestyle brands - lasted until 1971, when the governments decided to ban tobacco commercials from public television. But advertising had already changed forever…

维新噩梦工厂’s new album 香烟 is different from their earlier releases. It is more straight-forward. Rather than exploring the possibilities of re-interpreting and re-imagining television commercials qua commercial, the album focuses on tobacco brands’ lifestyle advertisements; the advertisements that connect ideas like beauty, freedom, love, a healthy lifestyle or nature to a product that is eventually going to kill the customer. 香烟 explores the ways in which something ugly can be made aesthetically pleasing, by totally overshadowing its negative roots.
