MOTEL FORLANINI is most likely a producer, or possibly a label, or a party. Or a motel? Probably a producer. And then there’s M¥SS KETA, who’s probably the vocalist, but never assume!
Some details exist on MOTEL FORLANINNI’s YouTube, including the video for “MILANO SUSHI & COCA”, featuring a girl in a french fry shirt pressing her boobs up against the glass while very literal stock images are cut and pasted over her.
“MILANO SUSHI & COCA” sounds like it could have been playing years ago, pounding in some greasy Euro club. But then those all those Macbook volume clicks come in, and it’s clear both MOTEL FORLANINI and M¥SS KETA are hyper-aware of their own satire: the endless beat, the terribly plastic lyrics. The Facebook chat sample towards the end of the track has to be one of the most annoying additions, deliberating messing with the listener’s perception. Just as Facebook is a satire of real human communication, “MILANO SUSHI & COCA” is mimicry of what the majority of the population believe “euro club music” to be.
