Awesome Tapes from Africa to reissue Professor Rhythm’s 1995 kwaito album Bafana Bafana, but I don’t think he’s holding office hours anymore

The truly AWE-inspiring Awesome Tapes from Africa are back at it again with more of their eponymous gold — and this time they’re looking to “school you” on South African kwaito (which I’m planning to write my dissertation on), because they’re releasing Professor Rhythm’s previously cassette-exclusive Bafana Bafana on the (very age-appropriate) digital and vinyl formats. Consider this your first lecture!

The reissue is out October 20, which means it’s timed perfectly to be the ideal soundtrack for you and your significant other’s entrance into the Halloween costume contest as a papier-mâché TR-808 and TR-909, respectively. So if you wanna snag the win from that idiot couple who win every year with their stupid-ass, bargain bin Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen costumes, you better pre-order the album on Bandcamp ASAP!

I couldn’t find the album on RateMyProfessors.com, but if the preview track “Leave Me Alone” (which you can listen to below) is any indication, its hotness scale is off the flippin’ charts! So if you have a passion for South African house (and who doesn’t? No seriously, I WANT NAMES!!!), then Professor Rhythm’s course is almost certainly a requirement!
