In 1988, decades before any of us were ever born, Beetlejuice was released in these things called “movie theaters.”
30 years later, the film is still a hallmark of Tim Burton’s filmography; it features memorable roles for all of its stars, and it’s a good film to find comfort in as you shake your head and go, “This crap again…” any time Alec Baldwin is in the news for being a dick.
In celebration of the comedy classic’s 30th anniversary, the fine folks at Waxwork Records will be releasing a re-mastered edition of Danny Elfman’s soundtrack. Also featuring two tracks from Harry Belafonte, the soundtrack is being pressed on 180-gram vinyl in two color variants — “Beetlejuice Swirl” or “Half Black and White” (pictured above) — with special artwork by Justin Erickson of Phantom City Creative, an art print, and other fun deluxe packaging you’ve probably come to expect from these kinds of special anniversary reissue deals.
It all looks pretty cool, and if you’re a fan of the film, or you just love shouting “DAY-O” at the top of your lungs for reasons you can’t understand, check it out. Waxwork Records’ 30th anniversary re-master of the soundtrack is OUT RIGHT NOW and can be acquired here.
