Björk, Chuck D, Tangerine Dream, and others tell all — or at least something in new interview collection Innerviews: Music Without Borders

There’s nothing more enjoyable (or disappointing) for a music lover than to read about how a certain band hates touring or that a particular singer despises playing in, say, Hartford. Anil Prasad has been publishing interviews and conversations with musicians on his website Innerviews since 1994, but in a weird reversal of digital to print, Prasad is releasing a collection of these stories in book form through Abstract Logix Books.

Innerviews: Music Without Borders features creative insights from 24 artists, including Björk, Chuck D, Béla Fleck, Tangerine Dream, and Ani DiFranco (see full list here). They open their hearts to us, “sharing candid, in-depth thoughts on the joy and pain of the creative process, their careers and aspirations, conflicts and collaborations, and the realities of working within today’s music business.”

The book will be officially released October 19. Until then, we’ll just have to be in the dark about what Chuck D thinks of today’s hip-hop. That won’t stop Flava Flav from spouting some nonsense.
