Is that buried treasure or just Broken Social Scene? Treasure Island festival anounces lineup

Arrrh, matey! I was goin’ ta be tryin’ an write this whole land-lovin’ article in pirate-speak, but fuck that, pirate-speak is dumb.

Do you have any plans for the days of October 16 and 17? If you don’t, then let me tell you that X marks the spot on your calendar when you’ll be heading to the 2010, fourth annual edition of the Treasure Island music festival! This year’s fest features the same picturesque views of the San Francisco Bay and a stellar lineup that features LCD Soundsytem, Broken Social Scene, and the first West Coast appearance by Belle and Sebastian in four years! Two-day and VIP tickets are already available for the fest, with one-day passes going on sale soon, but don’t wait too long to nab your chance to attend the kickinest festival this side of the Equator or you’ll risk missing an interactive village full of games, a live mural wall, a photo booth, local craft vendors, a 60 ft. Ferris wheel, slaughterhouse, gourmet food vendors from local San Francisco businesses, a casino, a refillable water program, Burger King, and buses to and from the festival!

Hey, did you know that this here Treasure Island music festival has never repeated an act? Neither did I until I read the press release! I also found out therein that the festival features two stages that alternate between artists rather than having multiple bands play at the same time (like one Chicago festival that shall remain nameless until the next sentence. Bad form, Lollapalooza…) so that everyone can hear every note of every band! The festival also breaks its two days down into easily-categorized set times, so that each day represents one genre of music: Saturday is electronic! Sunday is indie rock!

Tickets can be purchased on the Treasure Island website. That’s about all I remember from the press release, but is there anything else you really need to know?

Oh, yeah! The entire confirmed lineup:
