Dance collective House of Kenzo announce debut EP, Bonfires of Urbanity, on Halcyon Veil
Tom Wolfe doesn't know whether to laugh or sue.

Club-trotting San Antonio conceptual dance crew House of Kenzo—HoK when you’re in a hurry—are officially breaking out on wax (or at least the digital equivalent) this summer with their debut release via the lovely dreamers over at Halcyon Veil: a punningly-titled (well, possibly) EP called Bonfires of Urbanity.

The EP is due out sometime this June, but you don’t have to wait to until the summer solstice to catch some of its inimitable groove, because Halcyon Veil has also premiered the first cut from the release, a liberating techno-nightmare called “Melania Carry” from HoK crew member Tone Padron. Here’s what to listen for:

SOPHISTRY, AS IN SHE TRIED IT. BAD VIBES, LOW FREQUENCIES, RADIATING SO HARD SHE BURNS THE FUCKING HOUSE DOWN. VILE OF BITCHES WHO TRIED THE GIRLS. DOUBLE BASS REAPPROPRIATION. SOUTHERN BELL CITY PLANNING. A METAL INTERVENTION. DECEPTION/ POST 9/11 DEJA VU. STABS, PUNCHES, HITS. CHANNELING PURE SHADE, RAGE, OPPOSITION. “DONT CALL 4 MOTHER UNLESS MOTHER SENDS 4 U”-KELLY MIZRAHI. THE MOST BRUTAL DANCE EPIC OF THE CHAOS ERA.

Ruminate on all those CAPS as you click “play” on the new track below, and keep an eye out for more details on Bonfires of Urbanity, coming… let’s say… sometime next month, at the latest. You can’t rush these things.
