For grime heads (or even casual observers), Darq E Freaker doesn’t need no introduction, coming off of his massive “Next Hype” beat for Tempa T waaay back in 2009. He’s been about since then, producing for the likes of Danny Brown and D Double E, leaving a trail of dayglo slime and splattered brains in his wake.
April 1 sees Darq riding solo on his new ADHD EP for Big Dada. It might be enough to leave the usual RIYL baggage in this news post — think trap maximalists Rustie or TNGNT, p’raps — but his best work has the power to properly transcend any influences or sounds-like comparisons.
