El-P announces "male bonding"-style road trip with Killer Mike and Despot, will also play shows to ensure they have spending cash

If I didn’t know better, I’d say that El-P must have just graduated from high school, because he’s recently let the world know he’ll be spending his summer on a month-long road trip across the US with his best buddies.

The Brooklyn-based rapper/producer/businessman has announced that, along with Killer Mike (who El-P recently produced an album for), Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire and Despot will be going on a tour of America in support of El-Producto’s latest album, Cancer4Cure, set for release May 22 through Fat Possum. Even though he’s only telling his closest friends, TMT has learned that the real reason for the road trip is that the four best friends are just really sad that their glory days at George Washington High School are coming to an end and are looking for one last amazing whirlwind of life to cap off an adolescence spent learning, growing, and becoming the men that their mothers raised them to be.

The whole trip will kick off on May 21 at Santos Party House, a day after graduation, and will be competing with Tiffani Sanders’ massive party at her family’s cabin on the shore of Lake Gollawolla and, according to our sources, is splitting the George Washington High School senior class in two. “I heard that Tiffani’s party is gonna be filled with alcohol and coke but I could never miss the house party at Santos’ with El-P and his boys. That guy makes some sick-ass beats and they can all rap like frozen meat: raw, yo!” said GWHS class president Richard Mathers.

“Tiffani is, like, my best friend and all, but, like, I could never miss the party with El-P. I would rather, like, die, you know? Missing that party would, like, be the worst decision I made since, like, deciding to go to college at, like, a state school, ICK!” Mathers’ girlfriend Barbara Morse added.

El-P, knowing that anyone with half a brain will be at his party, has been stoking the anticipation for the road-trip/tour and for his next album by releasing tracks from Cancer4Cure, just yesterday supplying the world with the second track from the record.
