Francis Plagne releases new album Rural Objects through Black Truffle

Back in September, multi-instrumental artist Francis Plagne released his latest album, Rural Objects, on cassette. Today, the album comes to digital formats courtesy of Black Truffle. The future is now!

Rural Objects serves as a follow-up to Plagne’s 2018 collaborative record with crys cole, Two Words, which also found its home on Black Truffle. The album, which takes its name from a John Ashbery poem, was recorded on 8-track cassette in Plagne’s home studio and features a distinctive array of instrumental excursions coalescing around the postures of jazz fusion, ambient, prog, and folk music. Musician/composer/long-time friend of Plagne’s Joe Talia joins the artist on drums on the track “V.”

Grab Rural Objects on digital or cassette (while supplies last!) right here. Listen to a sample of the record and check out the tracklisting below, and embrace your digital futures.
