Ghostly International launches subscription service for the 2%

Subscription services: it’s the summer sensation that’s sweeping the nation! We recently reported that Domino Records has paired up with drip.fm to launch a subscription service wherein fans of the label are regularly dosed out a slow stream of Domino goodness (just enough to keep them coming back for more), and now Ghostly International is getting on that very same bandwagon. For $15 a month, users will get every new album the label releases sent straight into their electronic mailboxes, including exclusive tracks, live sessions, a 15% discount when partaking in bourgeois tangible purchases, and certain parts of the label’s back catalog that will be periodically unlocked. It’s like a Zynga game for music nerds!

In truth, the service will probably only entice the hardcore fans of Ghostly’s roster of labels: the Golden Pandas, the Matthew Dears, the Solvent-heads, and the Tycho-natics. But they’re out there, and I bet they have $15 to spare.
