Prince is stepping out from the Minneapolis suburbs (and his huge fucking house at Paisley Park) to lay the groundwork for a proposed tour of the US. The tour, titled “Welcome 2 America,” will see the Purple One MC and perform, with a list of supporting artists that includes Janelle Monáe, Sheila E., Maceo Parker, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, and Cassandra Wilson. Fans have expressed their feelings: “We won’t mind watching those other guys but, really, we’re just here for Prince.”
The series of shows were announced recently during a press conference at the historic Apollo Theatre in Harlem, where Prince told fans: “Bring your friends, bring your children, and bring foot spray, because it’s going to be funky.”
Despite the fact that solid information about dates, locations, and ticket prices is still forthcoming, Prince assured fans that the shows will be worth the price of admission. “Come early, come often. I have a lot of hits… no two shows will be the same,” he told the fans. I’m still waiting for the ass-less chaps to make their reemergence into the world. Promise me that Prince, and I’ll show up to all of the concerts.
