From the land of endless summer, pool parties, and gator wrasslin’ comes Miami’s own Jacuzzi Boys! The raucous garage trio are setting fire to the stony, cold hearts of critics across the US, and have landed one high-profile fan, the Earl of Contemporary Garage Rock himself, Mr. Jack White, who asked the band to record a live performance at his own Third Man Records headquarters in Nashville. Will napkins touched by the Jacuzzi Boys also be available online?) And now the Boys are debuting their most recent album Glazin’ over at Spin. This is the band’s first album for Hardly Art and it hits stores August 30.
Diehard Florida residents, the men of Jacuzzi Boys love Miami, and they wanna tell you about it. They’re so Florida that their practice space is located inside Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne, FL. It’s an enchanted land of reptiles, greenery, and Nixon summer homes, but as the Boys note, “Miami is not known for producing many good bands.” Bassist Danny Gonzalez says, “So, quite frequently we get asked, ‘would you ever consider moving?’ Our answer is always, ‘No!’” So it’s a good thing these upstanding gents from the Scarface state have charted an intense tour across the lower 48 this fall, bringing a little bit of sunshine, a whole lotta good times, and perennial garage favorite Davila 666 along for the ride.
