Jeff Mangum’s ATP rescheduled to March 2012

Jeff Mangum's ATP rescheduled to March 2012

Bad news, flesh-licking readers smelling of semen. Jeff Mangum’s much-anticipated ATP event (TMT News) has been canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances,” according to ATP. The good news is that the fest has already been rescheduled for March 9-11, 2012 at Butlins Holiday Centre, Minehead, UK. But, of course, this means that every artist who was originally planned for the December event — Superchunk, The Olivia Tremor Control, Young Marble Giants, The Raincoats, etc. — might not be able to make it to the March 2012 event. From ATP:

We understand this will come as a shock and we sincerely apologise that we were not able to inform you before now - please know that we do not take this decision at all lightly. Having to reschedule an event like this is no small decision and we realise that many of you will be extremely disappointed, as are we. We try to put the community of ATP attendees first in every decision we make and hope that you will understand when we say that if the postponement was in any way avoidable, then we would not be rescheduling - disappointing the community that makes our events what they are is something we find very painful. For now, your tickets will be automatically transferred to the new dates in 2012.

ATP are currently in talks with the artists about the rescheduled weekend and plan to have a tentative lineup on November 10, including some new additions to the fest. We’ll keep you informed on any updates. Who knows, maybe they’ll move the fest to the US!!!!! Actually, why don’t we just do that? ATP. Jeff Mangum. NY 2012.

Seriously. I don’t understand why they don’t just move it here.
