As per the ambitious statement of intent back in November last year, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is well on track to meet its planned five album extravaganza of 2017.

The third record, entitled Sketches of Brunswick East (Eat it, Miles Davis!), was dropped onto streaming platforms without warning just yesterday and is and is a collaboration with Stones Throw alumni Mild High Club. It’s a cruisy 13 track psych-infused-pop wander around the inner city streets of Melbourne, Australia; and you can stream the whole thing down below right now! (You can also pre-order your physical copy of the album, which will be shipping in late September.)

Sketches of Brunswick East follows Flying Microtonal Banana — which was recorded using modified microtonal instruments — and Murder of the Universe, a prog-opera that told the story of the end of the world in three chapters. Sketches of Brunswick East represents the first collaborative album released by the band, thus continuing their hot-streak of slightly skewing their modus-operandi on each of their now epic back catalog.

The band now have four months to drop their final two albums of 2017. Will they do it?!? (Just kidding; of course they will. The real question is “how?”)
