Kye releases its two final LPs of 2014, Matthew Revert's Not You and Food Court's Food Court

Today in news that is likely to make at least a few nerds who are working on their year-end lists say to themselves, “Well shucks, I guess I’ll have to revise my spreadsheet,” Graham Lambkin’s Kye imprint has just made its final two releases of 2014 available: Matthew Revert’s Not You and Food Court’s Food Court.

Matthew Revert, who, I don’t know, you might know already as the novelist responsible for last year’s excellent Basal Ganglia, arrives with Not You. Based on the sample embedded below, it gets a bit closer to singer-songwriter-type material than a lot of other work from Kye by setting Revert’s “diaristic/voyeuristic narrations” against various iterations of sound work. Food Court’s self-titled LP, which also has a preview below, is a debut collaboration between James Rushford, Joe Talia, and Francis Plagne. Talia and Rushford, as you might recall, flexed their collaborative muscles for Kye just last year on Manhunter. This particular release presents two live interpretations of “Fumeux Fume par Fumée” by the 14th-century French composer Solage. Both are limited to an edition of 400 and, as ever, you can hit up Mr. Lambkin himself via email for purchasing information.
