It’s album time again! Over three years since the release of Lindstrøm’s excellent debut record…wait, no, wrong guy named Lindstrøm. It gets confusing when a country’s two top dance producers both churn out delicious, proggy slices of space-disco like it’s nobody’s business (and they’ve even collaborated together!). I think it’s fair to say that Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, however, has more of an OG status at this point. The Norwegian has just announced his fifth studio album, “It’s Alright Between Us As It Is,” to be out October 20 via Smalltown Supersound; he has also recently premiered the first fragment of the LP, a Grace Hall-featuring track called “Shinin.”
Besides hall, “It’s Alright Between Us As It Is” features the illustrious likes of Jenny Hval and Swedish vocalist Frida Sundemo. Musically, the album finds Lindstrøm “refining his love of arpeggiated synths, relentless uplifting beats, warm and steamy analogue bubble baths and earworm melodies” — which basically means the guy’s once again going to do what he does best…only better. Amen to that.
