When we heard the news about the new Mates of States cover album (TMT report), we all knew that news of a tour was only going to be weeks away, and like clockwork that news has now arrived.
The Mates have announced that they will be embarking on a 28-day tour of the US that they have lovingly dubbed the “Summer Crushes” tour in support of the soon-to-be-released new album, Crushes (The Covers Mixtape) (check out their cover of “Laura” by Girls). The band will also be dragging along dance-rockers Free Energy, comedian Todd Barry, Afro-pop-rockers Suckers, as well as a “traveling variety show featuring live magic, sword swallowers, contortionists, human blockheads and more.” If that wasn’t enough for you, Mates of States’ own Jason Hammel will be DJing at each event!
