You know how it’s cool when Deadmau5 wears an oversized mouse head when he plays shows? Here’s some news: it’s not so cool, and Nobunny do it better anyway. Lead singer Justin Champlin/Nobunny wears a furry rabbit mask that’s somehow like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre after a visit to the petting zoo by the end of the show — and he gives the rest of the band bunny ears. (If you haven’t had the pleasure, check out their upcoming European tour.) The best news is the potential reason for the tour: Nobunny have announced details on a new album, their first as recent signees to Goner Records.
Nobunny are known for being disgusting, simple rock ‘n’ rollers — scuzzy is the best word, if not a little overused for these guys (the cover to the “Give It to Me” single says it all). First Blood, the first full-length since 2008’s Love Visions, is out September 21 and will probably be even more entertaining than Rambo.
