No Age announce Everything in Between, scientists create new sub-genres to describe No Age: fuzz-gaze, lo-fry, dazzle-punk.

Two years ago, L.A. duo No Age released their official debut, Nouns (‘cause, remember, Weirdo Rippers was a singles collection). It was a real good album (TMT Review), but it was perhaps most notable for the avalanche of made-up genres that went along with: Dream-punk! Punkgaze! And, of course, the ever lovable shitgaze! Well, get ready to make up some more silly genre names, because the firm of Randall and Spunt have a new album called Everything in Between coming out on September 28 via Sub Pop. This new fuzz-pop-gaze platter will be 13 tracks of drone-blitz anthems made using similar sampling techniques as last year’s heaven-punk Losing Feeling EP.

Leading up to the album’s release, the garbage-psych duo will do a bit of touring, two of which will take place in Russia. Other dates on the tour featuring No Age opening for Pavement, who are most accurately described as simply indie rock. How dull!
