We’re all excited that Olivia Tremor Control are back and working on new material. It goes without saying, because Olivia Tremor Control are very good. With that in mind, it also goes without saying that hearts are a-flutter with the prospect of an Olivia Tremor Control tour. Let your hearts begin their fluttering now: Olivia Tremor Control are going on a North American tour this fall. As exciting as this is, I’m here to remind the legendary Elephant Six band that, despite their status as a legendary Elephant Six band, this is really for the fans. I impart upon them this simple wisdom: play the hits, man.
Everybody knows what I mean by the hits. The second “Green Typewriters” track! The sixth “Green Typewriters” track! And who could forget the ninth “Green Typewriters” track! Sure, we’ll all be intrigued by the new songs, like “North Term Reality”, but there’s still that insatiable appetite for the hits. Play those, Olivia Tremor Control, and you shall be the toast of FYF Fest, the toast of ATP, and the toast of your other dozen or so dates.
