Missy Elliot once implored the masses to “go, get your freak on.” In 2014, Purling Hiss are doing something similar with the release of Weirdon, the album that will alternately make you remember that great rap song… or think of hard-ons. And boy, on this one, do Mike Polizze, Kiel Everett, and Ben Leaphart have a hard-on for psychedelic and punk-rock influences.
But enough about penises. Weirdon comes out September 23 on Drag City. It’s the follow-up to last year’s Water on Mars, and will be available as a CD, LP, or tape. You can check out the suitably weird album trailer below:
