Radiohead announce first European tourdates for 2012 in an attempt to save the Euro zone

It appears Radiohead are happy with the selection of Mario Monti as Italy’s new prime minister after the resignation of Silvio Berlusconi earlier this week. Just days after the third-largest economy in Europe announced the shift in power away from the long-time politician amid fears of a Greece-like collapse, Radiohead have announced four live dates (following last week’s US dates announcement) for the summer of 2012 in the boot-shaped (and -strapped) nation.

Along with the Italian dates, Radiohead will also play a show in Berlin. This is clearly a sign of Radiohead’s commitment to keeping the flailing Euro zone strong through the power of live music, a valiant statement from a British group. Should the Euro still be in existence come June 2012, tickets will cost 50 of them and are on sale now.

Tourdates:

06.20.12 - Rome, Italy - Hyppodrome Capanelle
07.01.12 - Florence, Italy - Parco Delle Cascine
07.03.12 - Bologna, Italy - Piazza Maggiore
07.04.12 - Codroipo, Italy - Villa Manin
07.06.12 - Berlin, Germany - Wuhlheide
