Slug Christ releases vinyl version of The Crucifixion of Rapper Extraordinaire, Slug Christ

Hokay, hokay, hokay! It seems that Slug Christ has found himself a physical home on Biosphere’s Biophon record label, of all places, and naturally it falls to last year’s The Crucifixion of Rapper Extraordinaire, Slug Christ to receive vinyl incarnation. Yaaaaaah!

If you’ve been keeping up with our monthly Favorite Mixtapes feature — and I know you have — you might’ve noticed that Slug Christ (and the entire Awful Records crew, TBH) is a fairly regular fixture in them. It’d be difficult to get behind just one of his many stellar releases, but Crucifixion is probably as close to a pick of the bunch as we’re gonna get, what with a few speaker-knocking slappers, delirious rapping/slurring, evocative religious underpinnings, and a rather impressive backing cast. This release embodies the very best of Lil Slugger, and now it can be copped on shiny waxx from Biophon’s Bandcamp.

Catch the video for Crucifixion track “HokayHokayHokay” down below, followed by Slugger’s latest track, “Elevate,” off his forthcoming Sometimes Even the Moonlight Hurt My Eyes EP.
