Soul Jazz is giving you another chance to get your Taki-stained sweaty hands on their biggest-selling reggae release, the now classic 100% Dynamite: Ska, Soul, Rocksteady and Funk in Jamaica. Originally released just shy of 20 years ago, this thing reps Jackie Mittoo, The Upsetters, Toots & The Maytals, Tommy McCook, Cedric Brooks, and Lennie Hibbert. You’ll also get reggae takes on soul joints like Marlena Shaw’s “Womanof the Ghetto,” Aretha Franklin’s “Rocksteady,” Syl Johnson’s “Is It Because I’m Black,” and William DeVaughan’s “Be Thankful.”

What makes the 2015 remastered and expanded editions is not just that is has been remastered and expanded and is shiny and new — no!
