Venezualan experimental folk ensemble Insólito UniVerso announce debut LP La Candela Del Rio

Grab yourself a bowl get ready for a hearty serving of this eclectic, cultural stew: Paris-based Venezualan experimental folk ensemble Insólito UniVerso have announced their debut album, La Candela Del Rio, and it’s droppin’ on October 26 via Olindo Records.

Never heard of Olindo Records? Well, there might be an OK reason for that: La Candela Del Rio is one of the first releases on Olindo, which is a young label founded by Colectivo Futuro, a London-based “cultural node” composed of artists, DJs, musicians, and others working on collaborative projects in multiple disciplines.

The group’s music brings together traditional Venezuelan folk music forms with psychedelia, electronics, and other far-out flavors. Rather fittingly, the album’s first single is called “Transmutada,” and you can stream it below. You can also pre-order La Candela Del Rio here and catch the foursome live on November 30 at Servant Jazz Quarters in London.
