♫♪  Archivist - “A Rogue Moon”

Of the posts I’ve written regarding electronic and noise tunes coming out of Seattle and the greater Pacific Northwest, nothing’s quite prepped me for Archivist. Alex Markey’s project hits the sweet spot of deep, cavernous techno of which I cannot get enough. As part of the secondnature crew, which started in Tacoma, Washington, they became infamous for throwing wild house parties. Now, as their profile has risen considerably, they’ve moved on to putting together bigger nights at clubs and concert venues in Seattle and around the world (more info here). As a solo act, Archivist last wowed us with Migration, released a little over a year ago via Brooklyn/Portland imprint Blankstairs. I’d love to say that I’ve been following him from the beginning, but Alex recently came on my radar, and these tunes are blowin’ my mind. “A Rogue Moon,” which we’re premiering below, is a tightly wound, bass heavy track that, on the right sound system, will take any club night to a truly dark place.

Archivist’s new EP Pathfinder drops February 19 via Blankstairs, in digital and vinyl formats. Pre-order right HERE.
