♫♪  Gobby - “The Dishwasher (Dean Blunt Remix)”

Gobby has been dominating things here at TMT, streaming an onslaught of content through our ganglion cells and spiral organs. And on top of it all, he announced a couple new projects last week, including a free album coming out under his Monkeybone alias and, most pertinent to this post, a digital-only single featuring remixes from Dean Blunt and Earthly.

Today, Tiny Mix Tapes has the pleasure of sharing Dean Blunt’s contribution. As one might expect, Blunt’s remix of “The Dishwasher” is a complete overhaul, the foreboding original now ten times removed, all sluggish and clipped and desolate. Blunt’s melancholy loops swell here in indeterminate dread, never reaching suitable resolution, with Blunt only managing to salvage the original track’s odd, disembodied vocal utterances. It’s an ode to empty party afternoons, to empty bodies standing at rest, to crumbled cities standing as known.

No release date has been set for the single yet, but we’ll keep you updated. In the meantime, check out the track here:
