Having appeared in live sets for something like 20 years now, Le1f has finally released his hot-before-it-dropped collaboration with SOPHIE. Titled “Koi,” the track sees Le1f rapping about a “boy” over thick, elastic synths, with Monomachine malleability twisting ascendantly through the verses to a hyperactive chorus of claps and pitched-up vocals. The sound design is impeccable, with sound slaps, rhythmic explosions, and a second verse that damn near falls apart.
