AIDS Wolf break up, plan one last EP

AIDS Wolf break up, plan one last EP

Ruckus-rousing Montreal noise punkers AIDS Wolf have decided to call it quits after nine years of mayhem, according to their Facebook page. While no real reason was given for the breakup, the band did comment to Exclaim! that “There’s always a reason… everything for a reason.” Well it better be a good reason. Maybe you guys could say you’re not playing until justice is served in Florida? Yeah, say that.

Founding members Chloe Lum and Yannick Desranleau will now be focusing on their visual art work as Seripop, while guitarist Alex Moskos, who joined AIDS Wolf in 2009, will continue with his solo project, Drainolith. Before all that, AIDS Wolf will be heading back into the studio in May to record one more EP to follow up last year’s Ma vie banale avant-garde on Lovepump United.

There are also a handful of final shows for the band to perform, so if you’re in Canada, go see their last moments and then maybe get some free health care and then maybe some poutine?

AIDS Wolf final tourdates:

05.05.12 - Montreal, QC - Casa del Popolo *
