The Album Leaf's 2004 album In A Safe Place gets vinyl reissue by Sub Pop

SafeFest 2015 is coming, y’all! What is SafeFest? Well, it’s not so much a thing, in that it does not actually exist in any tangible way. SafeFest is a festival of the mind, one in which you appreciate The Album Leaf’s 2004 album In A Safe Place. It’s a collection of happenings, two happenings in actuality, circling around the album Jimmy Lavalle recorded years ago in Sigur Rós’s Icelandic studio.

Happening #1: Sub Pop will reissue the record on vinyl on September 25. Prepare for celebration among the SafeFest crowd, as In A Safe Place has been out of print on vinyl since 2007. The label is repressing the album on black vinyl, as well as a limited “Loser” edition color vinyl. Safeheads can pre-order the album through Sub Pop’s store.

Happening #2: The Album Leaf will perform the record in full at ATP’s Nightmare Before Christmas. Alright, PlaceNuts, start booking plane tickets for Presaytn, Wales around November 27-29, because that is where and when that festival goes down. Happy SafeFest, everyone!
